The guitar is a popular stringed instrument. It produces sound when the strings are plucked at the surface. It used to be regarded as a combined instrument with a proverbial knight advertising. Stringed instruments already existed before the guitar. The first written record on the guitar is in the 14 Century chronicles. In its original form it had three double courses of strings and sometimes a single string. The guitar probably originated in Spain, around the 16th Century. It was asocial obligation to provide entertainment in the middle and lower classes.
